THE HMB SET MENU KITCHEN

 Meena's Story:
 A Set Menu case study...

Project beginnings:

Every bespoke kitchen starts with a conversation, and the Alchemist's Kitchen began with a special one. In this case study, we're sharing why this project became an instant favourite.

Meet Meena!  A client with beautiful ideas and trust in our process. What followed is a story rooted in craftsmanship and collaboration, and we're excited to take you through it from the start.

Meena's Story:

This kitchen is called the Alchemist's Kitchen because our client Meena is a pharmacist. During the project, it emerged that she was taking on her family home from her parents, renovating it from the ground up in her own image for the next generation. A wonderful thing to do, and she's done a beautiful job of it, with gorgeous windows, lovely lighting, and really elegant open-plan spaces. Being part of that story, alongside our own work, was genuinely lovely.

The Design:

At the heart of this Set Menu kitchen sits a generous island, built for gathering as much as cooking. A long run of cabinetry frames the sink and tap, with a taller pantry and larder wall close by. A striking sideboard and glass tableware cabinet create a relaxed dining zone, softly lit and finished with an extra-long shelf for displaying treasured pieces. Every element was designed around how our client truly lives and entertains.

Favourite Details:

There are so many best bits in this project. The fluted detail on the tableware cabinet base, borrowed from our Saitama kitchen, adds real richness and texture. The worktop is a special one. Terrazzo with  emerald, gold, and beige marble. This was a brave choice that Meena backed completely. Our favourite part, though, has to be the reeded glass tableware cabinet. The proportions just work beautifully.

Commissioning a Bespoke Kitchen?

3 Essential Tips...

Clients often ask us how to commission a bespoke kitchen, so here are our three tips...

1: Know your brief. Think about how you cook and live, and let the details follow from that.

2: Visit our workshop. See how your cabinetry actually gets made, meet the team, and see under the bonnet.

3: Don't sweat the small stuff. There's many ways to make a beautiful project, and we can help you sift through the options. Don't worry - they are all lovely, and whichever details you choose, it'll contribute to a kitchen you'll love.
